Escape from Planet Earth is an 3D computer animated family film produced by Rainmaker Entertainment, and directed by Cal Brunker, who previously worked as a storyboard designer on “Despicable Me” and “Horton Hears a Who!”. The film is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2013.

PLOT:
Scorch Supernova (Brendan Frazer) is an admired astronaut at planet “Baab”, where a blue alien population lives. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA. When BASA's no-nonsense chief Lena informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary's warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. Astronaut Scorch Supernova finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an SOS, from a notoriously dangerous alien planet, by the evil Shanker (James Gandolfini) it's up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing. As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure hungry son Kip.

The movie features a cool song by 16-year-old Aussie singer, Cody Simpson. “Shine Supernova” is an amazing song that fits the feel of ‘Escape From Planet Earth’ just perfectly. The outer space feel will go well with the intergalactic alien adventure. The song was officially released by him on 25th of January’13.
