The title “The Magnificent Seven” is spot on, for this film is truly, magnificent! An all-star cast comes together to make one of the marvels of the western genre. Intriguing characters, intense action, and compelling score by Elmer Bernstein combine in this unforgettable classic.

A small Mexican village seems to be forever plagued by the villain, Calvera (Eli Walach), and his merciless group of bandits, that rob and terrorize the village. When the villagers decide enough is enough, they head to the border to find guns. Instead, these poor farmers find gunmen. Chris is a gunman in black portrayed by Yul Brynner who comes to the villager’s aid. Things get interesting when Chris starts looking for fellow gunmen to face Calvera.

In the search Chris finds Vin (Steve Mcqueen) who is skeptical but agrees to help. Among the others who join Chris and Vin include a young boy with something to prove, a gunfighter on the run, a man who is said to be the best with a gun or knife, a curious schemer, and a tough man that needs work. The seven ride for towards the village and towards overwhelming odds.

Can these seven dangerous men with violent pasts, wipe their slate clean with this good act? Could saving this village wash the blood from their hands? Can these seven men oppose Calvera and forty other guns, or will it just be a gallant attempt to clear their past?

This is the pinnacle of cinema, and a must see for anyone who just cares about seeing a great movie. One liners, memorable scenes, and superb acting cause this to be an all-time great. I strongly recommend this movie to all cinema lovers!
