Book Review Outline
Book title and author: Holes; Louis Sachar
Title of review: Holes a cool story by Alex J
Number of stars (1 to 5): 5
Introduction: Holes is a very good book for children. Even I, a forty-nine year old war veteran, like to read it from time to time. The story starts out in the apartment of Stanley Yelnats, his grandfather, father, and mother. Everybody in his family, except his mother, believe that Stanley’s dirty-rotten, pig stealing great great grandfather put a curse upon the Yelnats family.
Description and summary of main points: Stanley is a good kid with little friends. He is a little bit on the heavy side and is often made fun of for his weight. Sometimes people can be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Stanley is one of those very unlucky people. He gets sent to a juvenile detention center for his “actions.”
Evaluation: Stanley meets a few friends along the way. A lot of those friends come from Camp Green Lake, the detention center that Stanley is sent to. All of his friends have nicknames. Stanley eventually gets one too. “Caveman”
Conclusion: All in All Holes a great story. It is filled with twists and turns that are great for readers who like adventure books. Everyone should go buy a copy and read Holes today!
Your final review: I personally loved Holes. It is a great story. Louis Sachar does a great job of making every fact connect at the end of the story! I look forward to reading more books by him!
