The Hunger Games is a book that will make you not want to stop reading. A “game” is held every year in the country of Panem, where North America once was. The games are held as a reminder of the war that had happened in the past days with district 13 a no longer remaining district of Panem. The rules for the games are one boy & one girl from each district will be chosen at the annual reaping day they are required to go into the games and fight to the death, the last victor alive wins the games and all the riches that are included. Welcome to the hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favor...
The main character is Katniss Everdeen; Katniss lives in district twelve, the poorest of all the districts. Along with Katniss lays her best friend Gale. Katniss and Gale have a friendship & also I feel as though Gale has feeling for Katniss. Some important points of the book are well actually many things. First, it is Primrose Everdeens (Katniss’s younger sister) first of many Hunger Games Reapings. Prim is the girl to be picked to fight to the death in the epic battle Hunger Games. Although, Katniss volunteers as a tribute because, her sister has not one chance in winning. At the hunger games Katniss meets her opponent Peeta Mellark, the baker’s son. The only time she remembers seeing him was when he threw burnt bread to her in the rain. Now a relationship is arising. What will happen next? Get more information by reading the Hunger Games yourself!
My feelings and thoughts on this book is that this is most definitely the best book I have ever read. I love everything about this book from the war and fighting to the romance and tragedy. My advice is to read the book before seeing the movie. I say this because the book has much more detail and thoughts than the movie proposes. If you really love this book don’t worry about it there are many more books after this one. For example Catching fire & Mocking jay.
Finally, this book made my heart skip a beat. All the fatalities, drama, and romance made the book so wonderful. I hope my persuasive review made you feel like you were in the actual annual 74th Hunger games. If I had to choose one book series for the rest of my life I would definitely pick The Hunger Games Trilogy!
Overall, The Hunger Games is a wonderful book. I would totally recommend this to someone looking for a good book to read! The Hunger Games is great is so many unique ways. So those where my thoughts on The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins!
