Caroline Tillman wakes up the same as any teenager on a Monday morning in “Monday Dawns” in the September 2011 issue. She really doesn’t want to go to school and just wishes it were the weekend again. Most of her morning is foggy as she tries to awaken. When she goes to school, something changes. She wants to win the so-called “rat race” to be the best in school.

The girl in “Monday Dawns” is a lot like me in the mornings. I’m not pumped to go to school, and all I want to do is sleep and act like it’s the weekend again. When she gets to school, she starts to want to work hard again and to win the “rat race.” As for me, I do not try to be the best out of my class but to be the best to my ability. We both like to have fun on the weekends, but we also know how to get back to work.
