Put a beggar on the throne

Let his name be carved in stone

As the people's fool, the magistrate

So wrongly sees fit to fit our fate

To us, he wears a crown of wood

To us, he does (naught) but good

Put a beggar on the throne

Better him than that old crone

A flowing river of a beard

Yet no fish would bed down here

Sitting in his kingly hall

Can't disguise the irony of it all

So put a beggar on the throne

We the people stand alone
