We've been hurt before but now we're grown.
We try to let it go, but it will forever show.
God has given us this light so we have to let it glow.
Not many people realize the way our words flow.
I want you to know, I'll never let you go through hell or snow.
We've tried to make the memories fade but then end up creeping in throughout the day.
We ask "How can we make this go away?"
Just know God will never leave. He'll always stay.
We're reminded of the hurt every morning we wake.
We dress in a fake smile to let people think we'll be good for a short while.
With every hour, we resurrect our past and we ask "How long will this last?"
I'm not here to say the hurt will go away the first day you pray.
I'm not saying the hurt will go away with a snap of your finger.
I'm sure the pain will continue to linger.
Just know I'll be here for you to lean on me.

I'll be right by your side through hell or snow.
