You have to be willing to sacrifice who you are for what you can become.

Weren't you supposed to be my hero, my father?
Wasn't I the princess you had hoped for?
It's clear now I wasn't worth the bother.
And so my confidence flew right out the door.

My friends always seemed to have what I lacked,
A daddy's special unconditional love,
an irreplaceable bond kept intact.
“Why can't I have this?” I asked God above.

I closed my eyes and remembered I do
My true father; far in distance, close in heart.
I was lost, but he redirected my view.
A love so strong, can't ever be torn apart.

Daddy's little girl I will always be,
like the last piece to a puzzle, he completes me.
