How callous is life
to make a love so dark
falling, burning in strife
their cinders leave their mark
How heartless is life
to make a love so deep
to bind poor souls with a keen, keen knife
like slaughter-bound sheep
How sultry is life
to make a love so sinful
for possible sins ignite
a downward spiral, dismal
A joyous life is a facade
forever hurt, forever flawed.
