There's only so much you can do, but there's also so much only you can do.

The final leaves slowly fell
As the clouds started to swell
Thunder roared like horsemen
From the gates of Hell.

A final tempest from autumn
Before winter makes solemn,
And the land cannot escape
Nature’s cold asylum.

The lightning flashes parting salute
As fall passes and winter takes root
With its boughs overhanging,
With its growth ravenously astute.

It will take too many a day
Until springtime makes gay.
Now upon cold hibernating heart
The land’s sorrows will weigh.

I despise the winter, and this piece was written on a night in November as a strong cold front came in to start winter and a thunderstorm.
