Spring

A tiny hummingbird
With buzzing wing
Declares the word
Once more, “it’s spring”

My cautious mind replies
“It won’t come, don’t set your heart”
But to my surprise
The days set a warmer chart

There is sunshine in my soul each day
When blossoms bud and tulips smile
As the weather goes my way
My heart will sing for a while
