Leaving a Legacy

The state of mind
From which I must defend
Is the suffocating bind
That all things come to an end.
To my family I am subject
A promise to my last breath
I will fight to protect
Their freedom and liberty, till death.
I only hope my passion will spark
A blazing fire in their heart
Driving them to leave a mark
From others they will part.
Remembered through a story
For rising up and meeting glory.
