Silent Shadows

I walked into that chilly room knowing,
Sometimes bad deeds are better forgotten,
Days will move on, the crows will be crowing,
But since I’ve confessed the ropes will tauten,
Anger flooded my mind, fear flooded his,
His eyes were like glass, yet cloudy and blank,
I did not mind, no one could really miss,
Such a wretched soul, I should receive thanks,
What else was I to do? Leave him alone?
For my family’s safety I did I did it,
I hid behind him; he let out a groan,
I watch from my cell, the shadows flit,
I love you my darling, please remember,
To forget my deeds from this December,
