"We are always feeling every emotion, but only a few are screaming."

verse 1:
last night,
I met a homeless man on the street,
he had blonde hair and blue eyes,
he ran away from home at the age of 16,
he had no money,
he took his car,
traveled far away from his hometown,
after a while of talking,
I realized the homeless man on the street was my son.

verse 2:
After leaving my drunk wife,
she had a baby,
she was never sober enough to take care of him,
thats the story I’m hearing,
from my homeless son on the streets,
16 years later,
I found out I had a son,
and when I finally met him,
he was gorgeous with a smile worth miles,
miles I could have traveled,
If I ever knew,
I had a son.

Chorus:
Shouldn’t have left her,
but she was drinking all the time,
never cared about her life,
If only i travelled those extra miles,
I would have,
If I knew I had a son,
She was crazy,
that old lady,
said my son,
says he drove his car,
the police never went searchin,
she never filed a report,
he had no friends,
and was homeschooled,
no one even knew he ran away,
except my crazy wife,
I should have just stayed,
for the content of my son.

Verse 3:
I met the man on the street,
I offered him for coffee,
we went to bars and shoppin malls for a month,
A month well spent,
The day we got coffee,
I asked him about his mama,
and he showed me a picture on his phone,
of him as a baby and her holding him,
that’s when I saw my wife,
holding this man I found on the street,
when he was a baby
that boy is mine,
still haven’t told my boy,
I am his father,
poor boy must be so confused,
he said his mom told him that,
his dad was a crazy drunk rat,
and to never trust anyone again.
I would have travelled,
to see my son,
if I only knew I had one.

Chorus:
Shouldn’t have left her,
but she was drinking all the time,
never cared about her life,
If only i travelled those extra miles,
I would have,
If I knew I had a son,
She was crazy,
that old lady,
said my son,
says he drove his car,
the police never went searchin,
she never filed a report,
he had no friends,
and was homeschooled,
no one even knew he ran away,
except my crazy wife,
I should have just stayed,
for the consideration of my son.

Verse 4:
I have this bond with him now,
but I gotta tell him I am his father,
but how can I spill that news over coffee,
I want my homeless son to have a home,
It hurts me to see a put together man,
fall apart at the seems,
just because he never had a role model in his life,
A role model was supposed to be me,
but I had no idea about my son,
until all hope was gone,
he offered me some weed the other day,
my son followed his mamas footsteps,
becoming a drug dealer,
imagine how great his life could’ve been,
if I knew,
he was mine.

Chorus:
Shouldn’t have left her,
but she was drinking all the time,
never cared about her life,
If only i travelled those extra miles,
I would have,
If I knew I had a son,
She was crazy,
that old lady,
said my son,
says he drove his car,
the police never went searchin,
she never filed a report,
he had no friends,
and was homeschooled,
no one even knew he ran away,
except my crazy wife,
I should have just stayed,
for the content of my son.
