Be yourself, there's no one better.

He's a boy

With a Dad

Just like everyone else

She's a girl

With a dream

Tryin' to make a life for herself

They talk off and on

Life gets in the way

But they keep tryin' each passin' day

The don't have much in common

They live in different states

One thing that's similar

They can both relate

The've been hurt by someone they loved

They hide their pain

Struggling through their days

Always with a smile on their face

Not everything is as it seems

Just 'cause people look happy

Doesn't mean a single thing

They can be sitting there laughing

But be crying on the inside

Don't judge a book by it's cover

Until you read the finish line

He said I don't like my Dad

He always yells

Called me stupid

Almost hit me one time

I just want him to leave me alone

Deep inside he wants his dad to understand

He wants to hear

I love you comin' from his lips

But till then he keeps on smilin'

She just wants assurance

Everything's gonna be okay

Too much has happened

And she's hangin' on by a thread

She wants someone

To take her by the hand

To tell her

There's gotta be a plan

But till then she keeps on laughin'

Not everything is as it seems

Just 'cause people look happy

Doesn't mean a single thing

They can be stitting there laughing

But be crying on the inside

Don't judge a book by it's cover

Until you read the finish line
