My mother left me when I was two
I was raised by my father's womb,
We were poorer than dirt
How much can a single family earn?
We ate poorly in our apartment home
As I waited for you by the telephone,

Hold my tears from falling
Why do I feel so sorry?
We were far away from each other
But it made me smarter, stronger, and better
But I'll throw it all away!
Just so you can stay,

Another Birthday, another Thanksgiving, another Christmas gone
Another day without you from dusk and dawn,
How many pillows hugged my tears?
Will, will you be here next year?
How much can a child pray on his knees at night?
How many times have my star eyes darken in daylight?

Hold my tears from falling
Why do I feel so sorry?
We were far away from each other
But it made me smarter, stronger, and better
But I'll throw it all away!
Just so you can stay,

Somebody love my heart and soul
Somebody fix me as a whole,
Because I missed you everyday
Was I the reason you didn't stay?
Beautiful life, Oh, tell me my purpose in this road
Before loving somebody becomes narrowed,

Wont you stay?
because I'll throw it all away
for a home,
A Divorce that robbed and stole,
All I can do is live and continue
I guess, I finally understand my blues
The blues in you too.
