"Nothing will last in this life; our time is spent constructing. Now you're perfecting a world.. Meant to sin." -- Avenged Sevenfold, Unholy Confessions.

Faint, like a memory
Dead, like a heartbeat
Til death do we part
Unbroken in my arms
Smiles beneath a mask of unbreakable lies -
No, I can’t get away, the only way out is to die…

A pact with God
Behind closed doors
A wedding ring
I wear no more
In death do we depart - or do you continue to haunt me?
Like a heartbeat, like a memory…

Should’ve worn black
To your funeral…
Should’ve tried harder, to write my own vows
Had I sworn that I’d always need you,
Had I stayed close… would you love me now?

Forsaken, like a devil’s name
Forgotten, like the truth
From life with my enemy
Whose last name I took willingly…..
Triumph beneath a picture of utter defeat-
No, I can’t get away to where my feet won’t carry me …

A pact with God
Behind closed doors
A wedding ring
I wear no more
In death do we depart - or do you continue to haunt me?
Like a heartbeat, like a memory…

Should’ve worn black
To your funeral…
Should’ve tried harder, to write my own vows
Had I sworn that I’d always need you,
Had I stayed close… would you love me now?

A savior, despite
The black rose’s thorns,
I suppose I finally
Found out who you were.

I never fully know what any of my songs are about enough to explain. I think that deep down, I always do know, but I just can't put it to words. Whatever interpretation is taken from this song, I hope it means something to someone.
