Believe deep down in your heart that you are destined to do great things because you don't succeed by "It is what it is", you succeed by "It is what you make it".

Another cloudy day

The weather man he calls for rain

I guess it's time to board up all my windows again

The clouds are rolling in

I guess there's no way I can win

At least this time it's not a big tornado blowing in

It's pourin' way too hard

For me to dance in the rain

It's safer just to wait

Until the storm gets blown away

The river yeah it's risin'

And I'm feelin' like I'm drownin'

Won't you come and bring me back to the shore?

A hurricane is comin'

I guess I should be runnin'

But there's no way to outrun the wave of a tsunami

The world is gonna shatter

But it don't even matter

'Cause a blizzard's gonna cover all the earthquake's dust in snow

It's pourin' way too hard
For me to dance in the rain

It's safer just to wait

Until the storm gets blown away

The river yeah it's risin'

And I'm feelin' like I'm drownin'

Won't you come and bring me back to the shore?

It's hard to tell the difference b'tween the raindrops and the tears

You'd think I'd know the difference after all of these years

Life's like a nor'easter with the cold and the rain

The start of the disaster is the middle of the pain

You can try and try and try but there is no escape

And you cry and cry and cry but you'll just have to wait

For the clouds to finally break

But they say it's always calm before the storm

The river yeah it's risin'

And I'm feelin' like I'm drownin'

Won't you come and bring me back to the shore?
The river yeah it's risin'

And I'm feelin' like I'm drownin'

Won't you come and bring me back to the shore?
Won't you come and bring me back to the shore?

The author's comments:

I've been under a lot of stress lately and got inspired by splashing through puddles on my long run this week. And of course the country fan in my started hearing Rascall Flatts' "Fast Cars and Freedom" in some of the lines, so thanks to them for writing such catchy music!
