There’s a tap tap tap at the windows
Everyone knows it’s the rain
The teacher speaks, no one listens
We’re just getting over the morning pains

She’s talking and talking and talking
She doesn’t know no one cares
Soon she’ll turn around and she’ll see
Her words have gotten lost in the air

In this world, I know I’m in the classroom
But in the next, I’m five miles into space
No one can stop me in my travels
There are routes no one can trace

I’m not the only one with the power
Everyone else has it too
Through the dripping of the minutes
There’s nothing else we can do

“Class are you paying attention?”
Yells a teacher from miles away
How does she expect us to listen
When the rain has that world so gray?
