Living in the past won’t let you cure today.
Beating rocks against each other starts a fire, but it won’t stay.
Nostalgia can turn to asphyxiation when you’re always talking about your reputation.

Where’d it come from?
Where’d it go?
I don’t think you even know.
A mime in a box can be seen from the outside
It’s only in its mind that there’s a little white room to hide in.
Step outside, feel the breeze.
Stand up off your knees.
Don’t run away,
You can stay.

Stay here in the present
Life’s little gift.
The future’s constellations star a sky you haven’t even seen a glimpse of yet.
Staring in the rear view mirror causes traffic jams.
And you’re no longer a puppet on a string, time to be a real man.

Your wakeup call might not be ‘till noon,
But darling, don’t you dare hit snooze.
You can ride on the coattails of your history.
But it’s so much more exciting,
Night turns to daylighting,
Pick up the pen and start writing
Your story of Now,
Titled here,
By: the one who faced his fears.
It took a while,
But look in the mirror and see that smile.

Where’d it come from?
Don’t let it go.
Because you know you know.
