Weightless

A girl moved to New York
Young and alone
She rarely could visit or answer her phone
He was alone in this world
He had nothing to lose
Without her, he didn't know what he would do
Go home and look up
To the stars in the air
Home's where the heart is, I swear she'll be there

The stars in the air keep your secrets
Maybe that's where you belong
Up in the sky you'd be weightless
Never worrying about right or wrong

The man moved on slowly
He'd held on so long
He woke every morning, so sad she was gone
I promised she'd come back
And tell of her love
The plans and the dreams that she'd always thought of
She'd always look up
To the stars in the air
Home's where the heart is, she thought he'd be there

The stars in the air keep your secrets
Maybe that's where you belong
Up in the sky you'd be weightless
Never worrying about right or wrong

She made a decision
To live out her dreams
Dancing and swaying, what fun it must be
He begged her to come back
He was going mad
She lied and said, "Oh I don't miss him that bad."
He went home and looked up
To the stars in the air
Home's where the heart is, but she's nowhere near

The stars in the air keep your secrets
Maybe that's where you belong
Up in the sky you'd be weightless
Never worrying about right or wrong

Oh she missed him and flew home
He looked out his window, he didn't believe what he saw
So, she ran up the driveway
He didn't know what to say, I guess she loved him all along

I told you she'd come back
See how she beams
His bright eyes lit up, what a glorious scene
They looked at each other
The promise of love
Oh that was everything he had dreamed of
They both went and looked up
To the stars in the air
Home's where the heart is, and look she's right there

The stars in the air keep your secrets
Maybe that's where you belong
Up in the sky you'd be weightless
Never worrying about right or wrong

The stars in the air kept your secrets
I think that's where you belong
Up in the sky you are weightless
Never worrying about what's to come

I wrote this about two of my close friends. The perspective of it is exactly how it is.
