I live inside my head
And listen to the music there.
The music sways,
The music stays,
And makes me fell like I’m breathing fresh air.

People live inside their heads,
And just happen to live here.
The world keeps turning,
under their feet,
And their heads keep moving with them.

I stand still.
The music sways,
The music stays,
And twists the world I live in.

People age,
And nothing gold stays,
But the music sways,
And the music stays
And I live there.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece, when thinking about people who wear their headphones all the time and listen to music constantly and how much the music meant to them and how it became such a big part of them, sometimes changing their moods and defining their moods.
