Once You And I

Under this wide blue sky,
It was just once you and I,
And I remember the things you said to me.
Now I'm left on my own,
Just standing here alone,
But I won't forget all these memories.

Those days seem so far away,
But it all feels just like yesterday.
Praying for what the future brings,
Makes my heart burst and want to sing.

Now I need to just see the road
I have a strong wind at my back.
I'll spread my wings and fly,
And soar past all these lies,
And I will find where freedom hides.

Under this wide blue sky,
It was just once you and I,
And I remember the things you said to me.
Now I'm left all alone,
Leaving here on my own,
But I won't forget all these memories.

I have tried all of these failed times
To give you this heart, to give you mine.
But I suppose it's all in vain,
But this spirit you cannot tame.

I pushed all of these clouds away.
I brought the sun for another day.
I'll show you that I'm fine,
Like this all the time,
And that I'll bring you to be mine.

Under this wide blue sky,
It was just once you and I,
And I remember all the days that we shared.
Now I'm here on my own,
Left standing all alone,
But I won't forget the things that we dared.

I'm flying free, so high.
I won't cry with these eyes,
And I will bring back all these memories.
When it was you and I,
When we were fighting time,
And I remember the things you said to me.

Under this wide blue sky,
It was just once you and I,
And I remember the things you said to me.
Now I'm left on my own,
Just standing here alone,
But I won't forget all these memories.
