Ticking clocks remind me that I'm still alive; Taunting me with consistencies at this hectic time.

I lock the door and close it behind me in the rain,
I feel the summer falling on me again,
I can see the colors of the fall in your eyes,
But I can't understand why it rains every time you cry.

I see the branches sway every time you breathe the air,
And the waves crash down every time you brush your hair,
It's no coincidence, I see the correlation,
Between the brightness of the sun and our summer vacation.

Everyone is watching to see what you'll do,
They all know our future depends on you;
You can change history with a snap of your fingers,
You are the world and I'm just the singer in a band.

This is us in the backyard underneath the sky,
I press my head on your chest to rest my eyes,
Listening to your heart, I feel the ground shake,
You wouldn't believe that it was in time with your heart rate.

They say one man can't change the world,
But what if the world is a beautiful girl?
Then he can change everything,
All he has to do is learn to sing.

Everyone is watching to see what you'll do,
They all know our future depends on you;
You can change history with a snap of your fingers,
You are the world and I'm just the singer in a band.

Everyone is watching to see what you'll do,
They all know our future depends on you;
You can change history with a snap of your fingers,
You are the world and I'm just the singer in a band.
