Ever since i was a child

I’ve always felt so alone

sometimes i think i would be normal

if just a little love had been shown

tell me, was it something that I did

to have you abandon me like this

so young, and never knowing a mother’s love

never knowing the feel of a loved ones touch

But you pushed, and you pushed

until i fell to the floor

but now you can’t push me around anymore

I’d go to school with belt marks on my back

wearing the same clothes i did yesterday

as all the “normal children” laughed

i’d just try to block them out and pray

Tell me, was it something horrible i did

to have you trash me like this

so young, and not knowing a friendships trust

never knowing the feel of a loved ones touch

but they laughed and they laughed

until i ran out the door

now they can’t force me to crack anymore

Everything i wanted to say

i never said out loud

i was so afraid

it wasn’t enough to make you proud

Tell me was whatever i did

enough to have you leave me like this

all grown up, without your love

i didn’t need your precious touch

but you pushed and you pushed

until i fell to the floor

now you can’t push me around anymore

Tell me do you feel what i felt now

being yelled at and pushed to the ground

i hope you realize what i could’ve been

had you shown a little compassion

I’ll continue to push

until you fall to the floor

but don’t expect me to help you up

anymore.
