It's three in the mornin and tears stream down my face
I just lost the bus ticket I had to start my life over again
I burnt all the bridges I had connecting me to this town
All the money that I had in my pockets is on the ground

I can't take this anymore
I've lost all I ever cared for
My life is on fire, my mind is so tired
Of sleepless nights

It's nine in the afternoon, again she just lost her place to stay
A public restroom is on her way, she looks in the mirror
her make-up is smeared, a faded memory of yesterday
She heads back outside, looks up screams and cries

I can't take this anymore
I've lost all I ever cared for
My life is on fire, my mind is so tired
Of sleepless nights

he heads down to the street he lived on when life was easy
he sits on the corner with his head between his knees
All of a sudden he hears a sound slowly he turns around
On the deck of an abandoned house a girl sits quiet as a mouse
he ask's her what she is doing there she said she had nowhere else to go
she's just trying to find her way back to simple

He takes her by the hand remembering a friend he once knew
He holds her in his arms, she's shaking but not in harm
the only sound that you hear is the beating of there weakening hearts

I can't take this anymore
I've lost all I ever cared for
My life is on fire, my mind is so tired
Of sleepless nights
