"Never be afraid to get kicked in the teeth. Let the blood and the bruises define your legacy." ~ Lady Gaga

I ran out of sunshine
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
I can show you the way
Puff your only muse away
All in one day
Brother, can you spare me a dime?

My pockets spit dust
And I had enough of lust
Save me and spare me your time
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
My pockets spit out dust
And I can't take anymore lust
Save me and spare me your time
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
Brother, can you spare me?

I crave your sunshine
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
Bring me towards the end
Create me pearls from sand
All in one mend
Brother, can you spare me a dime?

My pockets spit dust
And I had enough of lust
Save me and spare me your time
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
My pockets spit out dust
And I can't take anymore lust
Save me and spare me your time
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
Brother, can you spare me?

My throat is the Dust Bowl
Soaked dry like my soul
Tolerate through the next rain storm
All I want is sunshine
Brother, can you spare me a dime?

My pockets spit dust
And I had enough of lust
Save me and spare me your time
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
My pockets spit out dust
And I can't take anymore lust
Save me and spare me your time
Brother, can you spare me a dime?
Brother, can you spare me?

It's funny, because I wrote this while I was homeless and depressed, but that's not what this song was about for me. It can be about whatever you want, really, it was meant to have multiple meanings. This was inspired from one of the best well-known songs of the Great Depression era, "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime."
