Throw Away the Map

Grab the tissues,
And the wanted ads,
I want to move out, move on,
Forget what I said,
Its been too long,
Since I hitched a ride on a star,
Take the next exit,
Cause I might crash the car,
Looking in the mirror,
Its too blurry not to see,
All the lies that I've been telling,
Were fooling only me,

CHORUS
Put on your dancing shoes,
We'll make the most of this,
Tie up your troubles,
Just forget them with a wish,
Cause, we'll spend the day away,
Hot nights and colorful parades,
I'll keep your secret safe,
If you'll dance with me,
We've got nothing left to lose,
But the clothes on our backs,
Running from the law of reason,
So just throw away the map,

Got a pretty little poem,
I'm reciting in my head,
Better than the senseless panic,
I awaken to instead,
Grab my hand and we'll make it,
Through the forest, through the dark,
Light up the path with candles,
But stay away from sparks,
Cause I'm walking on a wire,
Between hope and broken hearts,
Getting hurt is a problem,
Finding love is an art,

A gold star for the winner,
A chipped cup for those who lose,
It's hard to to take with a smile,
But what else could cupid do?
Throw your arms out and embrace it,
Cause its always gonna rain,
Clouds may come and clouds may go,
But the sky will stay the same,
Pack our bags and our laughter,
Put our memories on hold,
If I see you in my dreams,
I will make sure to say hello,
