All My Life
All my life I've been living on the outside
I've always chosen the narrow path over the wide
All of my dreams, my fears, my secret longings are locked inside
Still I stumble and fall in the face of pride.
All my life I've been swimming in the deep
My heart and my soul are awake when I'm asleep
All of my dreams, my fears, my secret longings I keep
Still I wade in the shallow water when waters run too deep.
All my life I have waited
All my life I have hated
All my life I have pretended
But now my sorrow has ended.
All my life I have cried
All my life I have died
All my life I have fallen to the ground
But now I will turn my life back around.
All my life I've been humiliated
Especially when the cruel world has me intimidated
All of my feelings, my thoughts can't be manipulated
Still I know that I've been hated.
All my life I've hidden my secrets in my soul
I've always wanted to be the one in control
All of my feelings, my thoughts channel into my goal
Still I feel like my soul is blacker than coal.
Maybe I'm not the one who will make a great change
Maybe I'm just a girl who's insane
Maybe I'm just a loser with nothing to gain
But, I've got to find a way back to life, after all the pain.
