Destinstion Zero

Pressure rising, heart racing, desire calling,
"Be free, be free and follow me..."

I feel the need to break free,
out of what is a prison for me,
could it be possible?

I want to high-five the sun,
shoot at the stars with bow and arrow,
to elevate above the Earth,
just to be free.

A rebel, standing alone,
back against the wind,
fighting against the demands and wants of others,
just to follow a dream.

I'm the ravine, the loner,
flying free to a destination that leads me to nowhere.

Where am I going? What's happening to me?
Between the dive into the deep blue-green sea,
when time takes an eternity, and desire calls,
"Be free, be free and follow me..."

What happens to the coeur* that breaks,
when anger is a second response,
when I can't break the bars of the prison that threaten to close in on me.

I want to fly through the sky,
to make it to the end of the maze.
When the voice keeps calling,
“Be free, be free and follow me..."

I wish to high-five the sun,
to run through the tree tops, and levitate on the surface of the clouds,
to walk through the desert, and climb mountain peaks.
to break the bounds and be free.

What happens when passion isn't enough,
freedom doesn't last long enough,
and the destination leads me to nowhere?

A rebel, standing alone,
back against the wind,
fighting the demands and needs of others,
just to be free and follow a dream.

*Coeur- heart in French.
