Have you ever tried
to see through someone’s eyes?
The colors can show you
Who was wrong or right

If they seem confused
Or they demoralize
If they don’t like you
This will make it right

Try to look through his eyes
Go deeper than before
You may start to realize
That there is much, much more
To see

Now you start to notice
who he wants to be,
and who he is
so set him free

his eyes are blue
no glasses to use
the pupils go deep
and they tend to weep

He doesn’t see what we see
Not that he chooses to
He has to try harder than everyone
So please… be cool

He loves us
He just can’t show it
I love him
But he doesn’t know it

Try to look through his eyes
Go deeper than before
You may start to realize
That there is much, much more
To see

Now you start to notice
Who he wants to be
And who he is
So set him free

There are other eyes to see through,
Or to evaluate
Let’s look through the glasses
That Dad uses everyday

Looking though these lenses isn’t easy
Almost like being blind
He’s hurt me and my family
Maybe he’s just too proud to cry

Dad is confused, “out of it”
As some people say
But I think he’s just frozen
Until a better day

Dad loves us
He just can’t show it
We love him
He just doesn’t know it

So try to look through a person’s eyes
Go deeper than before
You may start to realize
That there is much, much more
To see

Have you ever stepped into
Someone else’s shoes
Have you ever tried
To look through someone’s eyes?

I wrote this in about 6th grade, and it is about how you can solve a problem by trying to see through another's view
