"How time can move both fast and slow, amazes me..."
-Bright Eyes

There’s a book you ripped up and its been sitting under my bed
A business card from your wallet to write on that said,
“I raise my eyes to the mountains; from where will come my help?”
I kept it in case you might show me one day

But I teeter around,
Because nothing was better than when you’d say,
“Bobby you’ll be alright.”
Where I’d look up occasionally, in doses, for the spectrum of green in your eyes
And, for seconds apiece, I was so sure I would be alright.

Now I’m coming to terms, coming back down to earth
Dreaming gives me more hope than I really deserve
Oh, I will kick the can till I walk to your door
Praying my hair will look decent for once

But I teeter around
Because nothing hurt more than when you’d say,
“Bobby, you’ll be alright.”
Where I’d look up occasionally, in doses, for the spectrum of vibes in your eyes
And for seconds apiece, I was so sure I’d be a part of your life

But I teeter around
Because nothing hurt more than when you’d say,
“Bobby, you’ll be alright.”
Where I’d look up occasionally, in doses, for the spectrum of vibes in your eyes
And for seconds apiece, I was so sure I’d be a part of your life
I was so sure all of those restless nights

Now I’m coming to terms, coming back down to earth
Dreaming gives me more hope than I really deserve
Oh, I will walk abashed until I find your door
Praying my hair will look decent for once.

“Bobby, you’ll be alright.”

I want to hear this sung. Bobby, your poems/songs are so touching...
I keep rereading this, there's so much meaning in it-- but i don't want to try to figure it out. I like the feel of it as is.
