That was the cry…
That was the cry of a little lie,
which never had a chance.
That lie was so small;
still it didn’t survive the fall.
It was just a little…
a little lie.
Just a little lie I told.
Today I am a coward,
while yesterday I was bold.
Said a few things,
that went over my head.
Said things I shouldn’t have said…
Now they’re falling!
Now they’re falling!
Drowning me!
Drowned by these words!
Coughing up the truth!
Hoping no one else gets hurt.
That didn’t worry me yesterday,
whether anybody other than me was OK.
It was a little,
a little lie.
A little lie I told.
Today I am a coward,
while yesterday I was bold.
If any forgive me,
I will forbid me,
from ever making such a similar mistake.
Love me now,
or else my heart is bound to break.
It was just a little,
just a little lie,
a lie I told.
Today I am a coward,
while yesterday I was bold.
I feel the chill in every bone,
I feel so alone…
Strayed too far from home!
Now what I really loved is gone.
That was the cry…
That was the cry of a little lie,
which never had a chance at all.
That lie was so small;
still the Liar didn’t survive the fall.
