We try and try to work it out,
But all we do is scream and shout.
You and I and perfect harmony,
That will just never be.
The sunlight has been overtaken,
By this storm that you've been making.
What am I supposed to do,
When I can't even approach you?

Leave me now and never return,
Because all that's left from the fires burn,
The gray ashes of my dreams,
And charred remains of memories.
All of which, destroyed by your hands,
I leave you now praying, "Never again."

You swept in so quietly,
But you leave fighting wildly.
I should have seen from the start,
That inside you was a cold, dark heart.
You never offered up yourself,
Or gave me any help.

Leave me now and never return,
Because all that's left from the fires burn,
Are the gray ashes of my dreams,
And charred remains of memories.
All of which, destroyed by your hands,
I leave you now praying, "Never again."
I find myself broken deep inside,
Yet I continue to fight.
One day I will see,
Just what is meant to be.
