That's all that matters

He sat there waiting for her
And she sat there waiting for him
He was another state away
And she couldn’t bear being any longer from him.

She took out her cell phone
And called him right away
That airport was so busy
And she wouldn’t be there today

He said I love you
And we can wait another day
One more day won’t do any harm
I love you and that’s all that matters

She hung up that phone
And she sat there until morning.
When she sat down in that plane
She was ready to go to him.

She took out her cell phone
And called him right away
She was on the plane
And it would speed away soon.

He said I love you
And I’ll see you soon
Don’t worry we can wait another hour
Another hour won’t do any harm
Because I love you
And that’s all that matters

On his way
To pick her up
12 dozen roses
Were sitting next to him
With a ring inside the card
Addressed with, will you marry me

At the same time
That driver never saw him
He swerved into the next lane
Trying to stop the two cars from colliding
But it was too late

She got off that plane
And stood there waiting for him
But he didn’t come.
So she took out her phone again
To call him one last time.

Three rings than an answer
A police man said the man didn’t see him
And once they got to him, he was gone.
But they found a card with Will you marry me

At the funeral,
She held the card with the ring on her finger
And another in her hand
And she walked up to him
And put the ring on his finger

And she looked up to the sky
And said yes,
I love you
And I’ll see you soon
We don’t have to wait for another time
Right now won’t do any harm
Because you know
That I love you
And that’s all that matters.
