Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad. ~Norm Papernick

I’ve heard too many songs
About love lasting forever
I’ve tried so hard to sing along
But the lyrics never
Sparked up any flames
So I’m writing one in your name

I’m not sure where I’m going
That’s what makes this so real
It’s the thrill of not knowing
Exactly how I feel

How is this meant to work?
How much does heartbreak hurt?
Do things get better?
Do things get worse?

You’ve been hoping for a while now
That I’d take this chance
You called across the ballroom:
May I have this dance?
My answer slowly changed
My mindset rearranged
You made me a dreamer, somehow

So, in your name, I’m pulling through
I’m letting lips do what hands do
In your name, darling, it’s gonna be
Only us now, you and me

We have years to decide
Where our loyalties lie
In the end, the passionate
Grow old, and survive

I believe in windows
That open into doors
And take us to places
We’ve never seen before

There’s no perfect line
Between what’s yours, and what’s mine
Believe what you want,
We’ll be fine

There are so many reasons why
We should fight the winds and fly
Against the rules we’ve followed
Until we finally reach tomorrow

I think I’m strong enough to find
The roads that realigned
When we wanted to ignore
Paths we tossed, and didn’t look for

So, in your name, I’m pulling through
I’m letting lips do what hands do
In your name, darling, it’s gonna be
Only us now, you and me

Dear, listen to me when I say
We were made to live this way
Two halves shattered long ago
Now, we turned back to zero

Hold on tight, don’t look down
One day we’re gonna rule this town
Breathe it out, breathe it in
Our endless story’s about to begin

Take care, don’t give up
All we need’s a little luck
Smile wide, I said this ride
Would be hard and long,
But we’ll still stay strong

So, in your name, I’m pulling through
I’m letting lips do what hands do
In your name, darling, it’s gonna be
Only us now, you and me

I’ve heard too many songs
About love lasting forever
I’ve tried so hard to sing along
But the lyrics never
Sparked up any flames
So I’m writing one in your name

Okay, so if you're a Shakespeare fan, you'll recognize the line "I'm letting lips to what hands do" (the real one's "let lips do what hands do," but let... letting... close enough, right?) from Romeo and Juliet. This song is supposed to be upbeat. Writing bouncy songs is a little difficult for me, so I hope I did an okay job! Enjoy!

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of Gods great love, we are not consumed. His compassion never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
