"It is better to burn out, than to fade away."-Kurt Cobain

Where were you when I needed help?
Bleeding on the forest floor,
Crying out, for how I felt,
When I ran out the back door.

You said you won't leave,
So where'd you go?
Don't you remember that night?
I cried and cried, begged "Please don't leave,
No please don't go."

You were my god,
My night and day, my everything.
Then you left, with barely a nod,
You left and took everything, now I'm left with nothing.

You said you won't leave,
So where'd you go?
Don't you remember that night?
I cried and cried, begged "Please don't leave,
No please don't go."

What happened to those things we had?
And those nights we spent?
The stolen kisses around our moms and dads,
Where do you think those times went?
Plans of playing house,
Playing mommy and daddy,
Remember those dreams of playing spouse?
But then everything ended badly.
I guess it was just never meant to be...

You said you won't leave,
So where'd you go?
Don't you remember that night?
I cried and cried, begged "Please don't leave,
No please don't go."

The author's comments:
This isn't written in my point of view, rather in someone else's after heartbreak. Pain and love make the best art, put them together and you may get some of the greatest artistic work out there. This piece can be interpreted a couple different ways, one as the obvious breakup. The other can almost represent the absence of a god in the narrator's life, until you get to the third verse.
