Love Like Liars

Stand with me,
Everything is fine.
Hold me,
In your arms, and let the time fly by.
What happened to those nights,
Lying in my bed,
Talking side by side
About what ran through our heads?
And what happened to your hand?
It’s not holding mine.
When did we
Let the time go by?

Let’s go back
To all those stories you used to tell.
But how am I
Supposed to face the truth
When all I know are lies?
Go back
To those stories you used to tell.
And how am I
Supposed to face the truth
When all I know are lies?

Kiss me,
Call me beautiful.
Stay with me;
I promise, I’ll always be your girl.
Let’s go back to those nights
Lying on your car
Dreaming together
Somewhere under the stars.
And what happened to your heart?
I think you took it back.
I have to say,
I don’t like how these things are.

Can we go back
To all those stories you used to tell?
But how am I
Supposed to face the truth
When all I hear are lies?
Go back
To those stories you used to tell.
And how am I
Supposed to face the truth
When all I know are lies?

Please
Don’t let the stories fade.
Wrap me up and whisk me off
To somewhere far away.
Please
Let our song unfold.
I promised you and I meant it,
My heart is yours to hold.
You promised me did you mean it?
Is your heart mine to hold?

Go back
To those stories you used to tell.
And how am I
Supposed to face the truth
When all I’ve heard are your lies?

Your stories are truths,
Set on fire.
And you’ve
Made me love a liar.
And in the darkness of it all
You’re still my one and only
Saving grace,
Shining light,
Catching me as I fall.
