Open The Door

The night that he left,
Will haunt her the rest of her life.
His words she will never forget,
Cause they cut her like a knife.
After 2 years he don't love her,
He doesn't know why he tried.
The truth that she discovered,
Made her wonder why he lied.

Just shut the door
Please don't come back
I can't stand it anymore.
You took all I have.
Love was something that you swore,
We would never lack.
Leave my heart by the front door,
And don't turn back.

She thought she'd give love another try
Maybe he just wasn't for her.
In a couple weeks she met another guy
Who swore she would never get hurt.
Pretty soon she asked herself why
He left her in his sweatshirt.
She thought maybe he wouldn't lie,
But turns out they're all jerks.

Just shut the door
Please don't come back
I can't stand it anymore.
You took all I have.
Love was something that you swore,
We would never lack.
Leave my heart by the front door,
And don't turn back.

She thought all guys would be like this,
And it was nothing new.
But when the right one came along,
He never said "we're through"

Open your door
Please let me in.
Don't worry anymore,
It's not you're heart I'm breaking.
Our love isn't a war,
Not something we win.
But first you have to open the door,
If you want to begin.
