The voices in my head
Taunt me as I lie in bed.
The words these voices say
Remind me as I lie awake
Of all the things I should’ve done
And all the times I should’ve run
Away from you and what you do
As well as him and the mess he’s in.

But where do you go
When you’ve lost all you know?
And what do you say
When your loves run away?
Who can you turn to
When there’s no one behind you?
-What do you do when you’ve even lost YOU?

The voices remind me
Of what I should be:
The perfect girl
Building a better world.
They tear me down
Without making a sound.
Then we come back to her
My personal vampire
Destroying my life
Without thinking twice.
I can’t stand living like this
In cold apathetic “bliss”

But where do you go
When you’ve lost all you know?
And what do you say
When your love’s run away?
Who do you turn to
When there’s no one behind you?
What do you do when you’ve even lost YOU?

I can’t get away
From the choices I’ve made today.
Consequences fall like rain
And running brings more pain.
So there’s one thing left to do
To fix what we’re going through
And now in the choice between easy and right
Mine brings me here and tells me to fight.

Finally I realize that I’m strong
But you knew that all along.

This basically sums up an event in my life that gave me a lot to think about: a friends suicide attempt.
