Like Gravity This work is considered exceptional by our editorial staff.

If love is only a shelter
I’d rather dance in the rain
Free to dodge the worries
And free to avoid the pain
If love is only a deal
I’ll give, and then take away
My heart belongs to me alone
And that’s the way it’ll stay

If love is only a dream
I’ll stay awake through the night
To avoid that horror, waking up
I’ll dream only of dawn’s light
If love is only a fleeting smile
Then I’ll avoid your gaze
And we can part without tears
And go our own separate ways

If love is only temporary
Then why bother to try
Like gravity, it could keep you down
And wouldn’t you rather fly?

Wow, this is spectacular! A very practical, yet eloquent approach to love. I commend you on your gift with words- don't stop writing!
