Sober

By , Bronx, NY
Wobbly.
Your steps aren’t even in sync.
Vomiting.
I see traces of it in the sink.
J.W.
Your breathe reeks of it.
Yet with bloodshot eyes,
Gazing deeply into mine,
All the while thinking, I’m believing,
As your screaming

I’m sober
No your not,
Month’s in rehab and what’s it got you?
Since October, I’ve tried to work things out,
Won’t you hear me out? I’m trying.
Well you better try harder,
Or you’ll lose me as your daughter.

Tragedy.
I thought you’d come back as a man.
Occasionally.
A hit or punch when you’ve drank too much.
Dumbly.
You look at me.
But, what do you see?
Nothing at all.
Except that little bottle you depend on,
When you aren’t feeling strong.

I’m sober
No your not,
Month’s in rehab and what’s it got you?
Since October, I’ve tried to work things out,
Won’t you hear me out? I’m trying.
Well you better try harder,
Or you’ll lose me as your daughter.

Climax
You’re my father,
But you lose
For letting that monster
Take over you.
Make up your mind
It’s me or that poison
Just don’t lie in my face telling me

I’m sober
No your not,
Month’s in rehab and what’s it got you?
Since October, I’ve tried to work things out,
Won’t you hear me out? I’m trying.
Well you better try harder,
Or you’ll lose me as your daughter.

Even if it doesn't have anything to do with you it sounds real and it made me feel for the girl in the song.
