My Graduate
I remember the days, when you were young,
When I would say, ‘cheese’, and you would always stick out your tongue.
You had no worries, besides your friends,
You didn’t have to pay the bills, but you could always pretend.

You never had to think about, who exactly you wanted to be,
Until the day you graduated, and you were finally free.
You had to grow up, and put on your big boy pants,
You learned in the MYCA, that you could earn a second chance.

You are now an adult; no longer a little boy,
You got rid of your baby blanket, and your favorite toy.
I sometimes wish, to myself late at night,
That you would have never grown up, and my little caterpillar never took flight.

Just remember how much I love you, and how much I care,
Because one day when you need me, I will no longer be there.
These big moments we share, right here in this day,
I have one last thing, quite important to say:

Always believe in yourself, in everything you do,
Because you have made it this far, and we are so proud of you.
