It has to be a year now
Since I realized I am in love with you
It started when I noticed
Staring at me is all you do
As I pondered why
Everything became crystal clear
I started to act differently
Always wanting you to be there

Were we both nervous?
Were we both shy?
My heart stopped beating
When we locked eyes
As time passed by
My faith grew weak
But today I said
I have the strength to speak

I wanted to say goodbye
But you weren’t there when I had the courage to
The words I planned to say
Will never make it through to you
I had the feeling the second I thought of it
Now I’ll never let go of this moment

We never said a word
Unless it was necessary to
But I tried to say enough
By smiling at you
We were never friends
Because I would never fit in
But if I had the chance
I would go back in time to try again

Were we too afraid?
Were we meant to be?
I stopped breathing
When you looked at me
As the time passed by
My faith grew weak
But today I said
I have the strength to speak

I wanted to say goodbye
But you weren’t there when I had the courage to
The words I planned to say
Will never make it through to you
I had the feeling the second I thought of it
Now I’ll never let go of this moment

I had it all planned out, including my actions
I even dreamed about your reaction
You’ll smile, blush, and laugh
Now that dream is nothing but shattered glass

I wanted to say goodbye
But you weren’t there when I had the courage to
The words I planned to say
Will never make it through to you
I had the feeling the second I thought of it
Now I’ll never let go of this moment

I’ll never let go of it

I wrote this about the guy I like. I realized I had feelings for him when I noticed he was always staring at me and I joked about him being my 'stalker'. We were never officially friends because I'm not part of his crowd. In high school, we had one class together but we saw each other pretty much everywhere. I had a feeling we will never have a class together again so I got the courage to ask him to sign my yearbook the last week of school. I planned out everything I would write but he was not in class that day and this day was really my last day of school. I felt heartbroken so I wrote this song. Enjoy.
