Ventriloquy

So lift me up now,
Show me a better life I’ve been missing.
We can travel through golden roads,
And forget about the place we'd known.
But no! Why does this road turn black so quick as we grow far away from home?
There's a storm rolling in and all I want is a place to go.

And then I realize where we’ve gone now,
A place no man should ever have gone.
And now I’m left here learning, as I keep on burning,
Knowing that the pain I’m holding is really all the pain I’m earning.

She’s my ventriloquist,
I’m a puppet and I know,
The longer I hang,
The thicker these strings grow.
She’s my ventriloquist,
No decision is my own.
I could cut myself free,
But if I did I’d be alone.

So tell me to move right I’ll do it,
Whatever you say I’ll listen to it,
Because no one controls me like you do.
And people always say "why, oh why must you do everything she tells you to?"
But the same has never happened to you, when you’re alone it’s what you do and,

I know it’s wrong to lose so much,
To lose so much to one person, all for nothing.
She’s my devil in disguise,
I’ve finally opened my eyes.
This succubus stole my life from me,
Forever hers, never to be free.

She’s my ventriloquist,
I’m a puppet and I know,
The longer I hang,
The thicker these strings grow.
She’s my ventriloquist,
No decision is my own.
I could cut myself free,
But if I did I’d be alone.

So I’m breaking free, ill cut these ropes just watch me.
Plunge into the deeps of a lonely sea, and see what life might await me.
I’m breaking free, ill cut these ropes just watch me.
Plunge into the deeps of a lonely sea, and see what life might await me!

{Solo}

I’m breaking free,
I’m breaking free.
I’m breaking free,
I’m breaking free.

{Fade out}
