While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see. -Dorothea Lange

You say we'll be okay, just hold it in and smile.
I sigh and turn away, this won't be the last fight.
I used to believe every single word you said.
I didn't realize they were lies strung on a thread.

You played the part, dealt the cards, and I was just your pawn.
But now I know who you are I'll try not to fall apart.

Because people come in seasons
is what they always say.
I don't want to believe them,
I don't want you to go away.
But I'm afraid the end has come,
I've got to make this stand.
I'm learning people come in seasons.

I've never felt for anyone like I do you.
You say "I'm sorry, baby, can't we just start anew?"
I say "I'll never trust your voice again, 'cause all it ever does is fib."
My poor heart is so shattered now don't know if I can live!

I don't know how I got caught up in your twisted web.
I'm not the one you should be calllin', go and run to her instead!

Because people come in seasons
is what they always say.
I don't want to believe them,
I don't want you to go away.
But I'm afraid the end has come,
I've got to make this stand.
I'm learning people come in seasons.

Don't know how I could be so blind,
Now I'm seeing clues you've left behind.
I tried to see the best in you,
well Sorry, my bad, you know what?
She can just HAVE you!

Cause people come in seasons is what they always say,
And I finally believe them,
Will you just please get out of my face?
The end has come no turning back,
This is me taking my stand,
I've learned people come in seasons,
and mine and yours, is at its
END.

Once, I really liked this guy, I almost thought I was in love with him. But he didn't really like me, he just like to toy with me. And I let my emotions out through music and songs, so this was the product which is pretty cool thing. I hope this song sends a message to teen girls everywhere that they shouldn't spend time chasing a guy who is a liar and a jerk, and I hope they won't make the same mistake I did.

Thank you so much! Both for the compliments and the constructive criticism..it really was a rant of some sort lol. I was very angry when I wrote it, so that could explain it a little...something for me to think about lol. :)

"I learned that you should feel when writing, not like Lord Byron on a mountain top, but like a child stringing beads in kindergarten - happy, absorbed and quietly putting one bead on after another." Brenda Ueland

I enjoyed reading your poem but I felt like when the line “I’ve never felt for anyone like I do for you" began, which is beautiful don’t get me wrong, the poem turned into more of a rant. I felt like it could have been more passionate. I loved the end though, "I've learned people come in seasons, and mine and yours, is at its end."  I hope to see many more great poems from you :) Keep writing!
