Forgive and Forget

When you said goodbye
Didn’t think you meant it
But now that you’re gone
I truthfully have to admit
That I’ve really missed you
More than probably should
I guess I cared too much
More than I thought I could
Because you said forever
And I honestly believed
For a second I mattered
To bad I didn’t see…..

Or I wouldn’t be here
Waiting for something I won’t get
A simple apology, a sorry
But its alright, I’m alright
Just move on, forgive and forget
All that we had together
I just haven’t yet

Well, I already know that
You’re too far gone
I can’t believe that
Cause it hasn’t been that long
There’s no point trying to
To get you back at all
I didn’t look before I leaped
And you just let me fall
You’re really good at faking
Your deception, your lies
I didn’t see it coming,
That hate in your eyes
I can feel it now though
Your glare across the room
I’ve never felt so raw
I guess I have to assume….

That I’m waiting here
for something I won’t get
A simple apology, a sorry
But its alright, I’m alright
Just move on, forgive and forget
All that we had together
I just haven’t yet
***
You may not believe
That it’s hard to let go
After all this time together
Just thought I’d let you know
That I’m waiting here
For something I won’t get
A simple apology, a sorry
It’s alright, I’m alright
Just move on, forgive and forget
All that we had together
I just haven’t yet

So just say goodbye
And leave me
Don’t expect me to
Pick up my phone
Pack up your bags
And go back home.
