"When angry, count to ten. When very angry, swear."
~ Mark Twain

Lights pass by on the freeway,

Some are green, others blue.

Flashing, merging into blurs.

Leaving me with thoughts of you.

People pass like the freeway,

Fading in and out of sight.

Going somewhere, never ceasing,

to be bright flashes of light.

I am somewhere,

Between who I used to be

and the finished me.

I am searching,

For the answer to what it all means.

Faint trails traced by fingers,

empty spaces left behind.

Places where memory lingers,

trying to turn back time.

Things that used to have meaning,

can only now remind.

Warn of things that could happen,

To leave all of this behind.

I am somewhere,

Between who I used to be,

and the finished me.

I am searching,

For the answer to what it all means.

I can't wait to forget,

Lessons learned I should have known.

Too many thoughts in my head,

Like birds yet to have flown.

Someday life will be easy,

Settled where I want to be.

But until that day comes,

I'll just try to be me.

A lot of things had been rumbling around in my head, and they all kind of came pouring out of my head when I sat down to write. This is the product of my brain-dump.
