Oh the times are changing,
and maybe a sinner can't be saint,
but who says that all of my mistakes,
have to hold me back.
These glances that we're exchanging,
maybe they mean something more,
than just a smile filled with warmth,
what if you're everything I lack?

What if there's a reason that all that stuff happened?
What if there's a reason that our futures overlap and,
what if there's a what if for us?
What if there's a what if for us?

But the past is hard to let go,
when it appears in the wrong places.
How can you forget so many faces,
that still frown at you?
When I look at you I think I know,
that I could put all these trust issues aside,
commit for the first time in my life.
What if what you say is true?

When you say,
what if there's a reason that all that stuff happened?
What if there's a reason our futures overlap and,
what if there's a what if for us?
Maybe there's a reason we should trust.
