'you touched my heart, through it's shell'

It seems like no matter what I do
I can't escape you
It isn't because I don't have the power to
But more so, if I do
I soon become unsure of everything

Because if this isn't real then I don't know what is
And if you never loved me then I don't know who did
If we were really nothing, then I don't know what anything is
If I let you go now, I fear I may never feel again
I fear you may have been the only one
who'd ever mark such a deep etch in my vulnerable head

I realize for the very last time
I don't want to escape you
To me, you're but a gorgeous memory
Continuously, I find it so hard to be alright,
with you, so beautiful, destroying my insides
Closing my eyes, I try to find you in the dark
spaces behind my mind
But I don't know where you are
I'm unsure

Because if this isn't real then I don't know what is
And if you never loved me then I don't know who did
If we were really nothing, then I don't know what anything is
If I let you go now, I fear I may never feel again
I fear you may have been the only one
who'd ever mark such a deep etch in my vulnerable head

"Live your art" -made this one up myself. Simple, but true.

I like this a lot but I don't think some of the lines flow together as well as they could.

Wow, thanks for all your advice. [:

To explain "become unsure of everything", that part kind of ties into the chorus...  Not knowing what's real anymore and stuff.

First of all, the refrain in this was really cool :)  I get a great sense of emotion in that part, and the speaker really comes through.  Although I must say, this line "who'd ever mark such a deep etch in my vulnerable head" just seems a little awkward because  most people think of 'etch' as a verb rather than a noun, so it's odd to be heard as a noun.  I'd recommend switching the words 'mark' and 'etch.'  I also thought the first stanza was a little odd sounding.  The first three lines flow pretty well, but the fourth and third just thorw me off, because I have no idea why it would make the speaker 'unsure of everything.'

Overall-  This is a song with great meaning behind the lyrics, I think, but some of the wordings sound oddly sturctured and could use some rewordings.
